Privacy Policy
This privacy policy is applicable to the browsing and use of the services offered on this website. This privacy policy mentions the personal data we collect, how and where we may use it, how we protect it, who has access to it, with whom we share it, and how you can correct it if necessary.
Virtual Safe Guard processes personal data in accordance with the European data protection law (General Data Protection Regulation – EU Regulation 2016/679).
Virtual Safe Guard provides data security services. The purpose is to ensure the security of information and networks by providing services in these areas while respecting the privacy and personal data of customers, Internet users and business partners.
We only collect personal data that are absolutely necessary for the above-mentioned purposes, putting every effort to do so. We do not sell your data. For all collected information and data, we strive to apply appropriate solutions to make it anonymous, or at least to pseudonymize it.
Personal data, as defined in the European legislation (GDPR – Regulation 2016/679) means:
any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.
When using Virtual Safe Guard services, we need to ask you to provide us with your name, email address and telephone number, to ensure the security of your information for the following reasons:
- to provide you with information regarding security breaches of your personal data and to send you instant alerts regarding new security breaches (you will be instantly alerted if your personal information appears in a new security breach);
- to provide you with information regarding the possibility of your digital persona affecting your online reputation or the image projected on social networks;
- to give you the option to continuously monitor your identity in order to reduce the number of false alarms or double alerts we send you.
Virtual Safe Guard is initially searching public records for personal information, so that it can begin to create a private identity profile. The system matches all the information associated with your identity and verifies if it has been the subject of a security breach on the Public Web, Deep Web or even the Dark Web, and we provide you with information such as e-mail addresses or phone numbers used by you, matched with the data you have provided, or other information related to your identity, such as name, gender, date of birth, email addresses, telephone numbers, physical addresses, usernames, jobs, education, URLs or references to public photos.
In order to detect identity theft on social networks, Virtual Safe Guard uses the personal data you have provided to us (name, email address and phone number) to find if someone has created a fake account on the main social networks assuming your identity. At the first sign of such finding, you will receive a link to the suspicious profile and recommended instructions on how to report and remove it from the respective social network. Reporting and removing a fake profile can also be done automatically, by request, by Virtual Safe Guard robots.
In the event of a data breach, Virtual Safe Guard will send you alerts that include results, and you will receive recommendations on what steps to take in order to reduce the risk of account hacking or new account fraud. Such results may include references to e-mail, password, address, telephone number, SSN, bank cards, travel documents, public records and medical records – without displaying the value of such data – and therefore we do not store nor process the information, but only the sources / links of possible security breaches.
We store information received for so long how active the service is, in order to be able to display the status of your information and to be able to properly send you notifications or to send you an instant alert in the event of a change in your personal data or in the event of a security breach in which you are involved.
